Well, I have been so busy with the news site, Vicksburgdailynews.com, that my crafting has taken a backseat. I promise that this is just a temporary situation. I will be back to making and filling my table at The Cricket Box in no time with whatever comes to my mind. I do still have some small vases and recycled note cards there now. Pictures coming soon… Promise.

It looked like we weren’t going to be able to see the eclipse, but as the time approached the sky just opened up. It was soooo awesome! Here are the pics I took. They aren’t the greatest in the world, but without a tripod, I think they turned out ok.

The trip out here went great! I didn’t even freak out too bad on the plane. I feel like such a big girl!
I have been working on a few more crafty things and will get those posted very soon.
Linda had surgury this morning and is doing well, even though she is in a massive amount of pain. The pain from the last back surgury had nothing on this! Ya’ll pray for her.

Here are some of the vases I’ve made. Many of them have been sold, but there are a few available at The Cricket Box. The Cricket Box is located just north of I-20 on Halls Ferry Road (directly across from Sonic Drive-In) in Vicksburg, MS.

So, I’ve been giving the squirrels peanuts so that I can take pictures of them. That may not have been such a good idea. Here’s how the drama unfolded.
This little guy was eating the nuts.

Then this one came up and beat his little butt. That’s when my slow brain kicked in and I went to get the camera. The poor little one kept trying to sneak up and get his fair share of the peanuts. Well, the bigger one just kept whipping his little butt all over the place. The following pictures are a few that I was able to get.

And even a challenge to me!

There are tons of squirrels that live in Linda’s backyard. I decided that I would feed them some peanuts. This little guy was pretty awesome and let me take these pictures. I put the rest over at the gallery.

And last one. A little squirrel booty!!!

Other than all the wonderful rodent fun, we had a good day. We had lunch with Joan, Sherry and Eddie (some of Linda’s AMAZING friends). I was so scared to come out here for fear of being all alone. That has not been the case at all. Her friends have treated me like they have known me all of my life. It has been an absolutely wonderful experience. I think I have made friends for life.
I do, however, miss all of you guys terribly. I can not wait to sit at the bar at El Sombrero and have a few margaritas and do some face to face catching up!
Ya’ll be good and stay outta trouble.

We are doing good and we haven’t frozen yet. Linda is doing really good. She doesn’t think so, but she is. We made a trip to the furniture store yesterday and walked for about an hour and a half!!! I am missing home, but I’m having a blast. I’m learning to cross stitch and knit (on a loom).
I know I’ve not been keeping up with this thing, but promise to do better. Love ya’ll!!!

Yes, it’s COLD!!
I’m only going to post a few pictures here. You can see the good, the bad, and the “Holy crap, I can’t believe she posted that” by checking out the gallery at www.crittylu.com/gallery
Here are some of my new friends:
Meko

Kelsey

And the very noisy Keba

And here are a few of the snow

It has been cold and rainy. Yuck!
On another note, Linda had her staples taken out yesterday. We walked all over the hospital. They have amazing art of all types from local artists. It was tiring for her, but she held up like a real trooper.
Miss you all and will be home soon.
